Uninsured Motorist Claims
Most (but not all) drivers have liability insurance to pay for the injuries and damages caused by their negligence. Unfortunately, there are cases where the other driver does not have liability insurance or does not have enough insurance to compensate you for your injuries. In these cases it is necessary to make a claim against your own insurance company under the uninsured motorists provisions of your policy. Although this should be a simple process, oftentimes it is not. Even though you have paid premiums for uninsured motorists coverage, your own company has the right to investigate the case and to resist your claim. Your insurance company may even hire a lawyer to defend itself against your claim.
